In Short There's Simply Not a More Completely Bogus Spot

In his latest half-baked analysis/commentary, Dick Smyth observes that despite all the parallels between the Obamas and the Kennedys (first member of his minority group to be elected prez, cute kids, glamazon wife) the U.S. has failed to succumb to an Obama "Camelot". Asks Dick: Is the failure to view Obama through a Camelot lens Obama's fault, or the country's fault?

Whoa. That's deep, Dick.

Here's the thing, though. The whole maudlin "Camelot" myth (noble knights and ladies; a singular era of chivalry and culture) was invented by JFK's grieving widow after his assassination. The truth about her slain swain (done in by a little pissant Commie), as we now know, was markedly different--hot and cold running secretaries ("Fiddle" and "Faddle") cavorting nekkid in the White House pool, and a Satyr-in-Chief who made that old horndog Bill Clinton look prudish and chaste in comparison.

That there's no version of an Obama "Camelot" has nothing to do with either Obama or the country. It has to do with the fact that, today more than ever, Jackie's puffery is N/A.
